Marcel Granollers will meet Janko Tipsarevic in the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup after the Spaniard defeated Jeremy Chardy in straight sets in Toronto.
Granollers was in dominant form in the opening set as he brushed aside his French opponent 6-1.
Chardy fought back in the second, but he was eventually undone by Granollers 6-4.
Tipsarevic sealed his place in the last eight with a straight-sets victory over Marin Cilic.
