Mikhail Youzhny into second round of Dubai Tennis Championships

Mikhail Youzhny has secured a place in the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships by seeing off Michal Przysiezny 6-3 6-4.

The sixth seed managed to control proceedings on the court when he secured two break points in the opening set.

Przysiezny struggled to create a break point of his own, giving himself a lot to do as Youzhny wrapped up the first set to take the lead.

The second set was a tighter affair between the competitors as Przysiezny managed to secure one break point during the contest.

However, Youzhny was able to draw on his experience to hold his serve and eventually see out the match to progress into the next round.
