Caroline Wozniacki beats Agnieszka Radwanska in Madrid Open third round

Caroline Wozniacki is through to the Madrid Open quarter-finals by beating Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3 6-2.

Caroline Wozniacki has defeated Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open.

Both players struggled to hold serve during a cagey opening set, but it was world number five Wozniacki who eventually clinched it 6-3.

Radwanska's serve continue to let her down in the second, while her opponent reeled in the unforced errors. Having opened up a 4-2 lead, Wozniacki was able to go on and seal her progress 6-3 6-2.

The Dane will now play defending champion Maria Sharapova in the last eight following the Russian's narrow victory over Caroline Garcia.

Meanwhile, world number nine Radwanska will drop out of the top 10 next week for the first time since October 2011.
