Heather is through to the semi-finals of the Japan Open after defeating France's Pauline Parmentier.

Heather Watson has defeated Pauline Parmentier in straight sets to progress through to the semi-finals of the Japan Open.

The 20-year continued her impressive form in Asia with a 7-5 6-3 victory over her French opponent in just under two hours.

She will now face Japan's Misaki Doe for a place in the final.

Watson's win also guarantees her a place in the world's top 60 when the WTA rankings are released next week.
