Roberta Vinci beats Petra Kvitova in straight sets to win the inaugural Katowice Open in Poland.

Roberta Vinci has won the inaugural Katowice Open with a straight-sets victory over top seed Petra Kvitova.

The Italian took the opening set 7-6(2) before she sealed the win against her Czech opponent 6-1 in the second.

The triumph in Poland saw Vinci pick up her first singles title of the year and an eighth in total.

Both players will be involved with their respective countries when they meet in the Fed Cup in Palermo next weekend.
