Samantha Stosur wins in Spanish capital

Samantha Stosur advanced through to round three of the Madrid Open at the expense of Petra Cetkovska this afternoon.

The US Open champion made light work of her opponent from the Czech Republic, dropping just five games in the process.

Cetkovska held her own during the early exchanges of the opening set with a number of defensive shots.

However, Stosur broke to open up a 5-3 advantage before going on to clinch the set 6-3.

Two further breaks of Cetkovska's serve followed in the second set as world number 46 Stosur wrapped up the victory 6-3 6-2.
