Sam Stosur reaches third round in Miami

Sam Stosur has reached round three of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami with a straight-sets victory over Valeria Savinykh.

Last year's US Open winner began the first set strongly as she broke the Russian's first service game.

Savinykh managed to snatch a break back to level the scores at 2-2, but Stosur replied instantly with another break before she was able to serve out the set 6-4.

Despite a solid showing in the previous set, the world 113 had little to offer in the second as Stosur won 6-0 to claim the match.
