Samantha Stosur overcomes early wobble to reach Rome Masters third round

Samantha Stosur has booked a place in the third round of the Rome Masters by defeating Peng Shuai 7-6[5] 6-0.

The Australian pro stormed to a 3-0 lead in the first set but Peng managed to find her feet and caused some problems with her strong returns and swift movement around the court.

Peng was able to draw level and force the set into a tie-break, but all her efforts failed to matter in the decider as Stosur wrapped up the first set with a 7-5 win.

Despite a tough task in the first set, it was a formality for Stosur in the second as she eased to victory with Peng failing to put one game on the board.
