Samantha Stosur has beaten Petra Kvitova in three sets to book her place in the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters.
The Australian won a gritty opening set 7-5 before Kvitova levelled the contest 6-2 in the second.
Despite being broken at the start of the third, former US Open champion Stosur fought back to emphatically close out the match 6-1.
Waiting for Stosur in the quarter-finals is world number three Victoria Azarenka.
