Agnieszka Radwanska is safely through to the Sony Ericsson Open quarter finals after beating young Spaniard Garbine Muguruza Blanco 6-3 6-2.

Fifth seed Agnieszka Radwanska progressed to the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open with a 6-3 6-2 win over Garbine Muguruza Blanco.

It was the first professional match between the pair and Radwanska wasted little time in showing her greater experience against the 18-year-old.

She took the first set 6-3 and despite being broken early in the second, remained composed to win it 6-2 and secure victory over the Spaniard in just over an hour.

Radwanska will face either Venus Williams or Ana Ivanovic for a place in the semi-finals.
