Agnieszka Radwanska sees off Roberta Vinci in Madrid third round

Radwanska eases into quarter-finals

Agnieszka Radwanska has reached the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open after defeating Roberta Vinci 7-6[1] 6-4.

The 23-year-old Polish pro managed to edge the opening set but not without a tough fight from Vinci, who stayed in contention to take the match to a tie-break.

Despite a number of impressive shots, the 29-year-old slumped in the tie-break and could only notch one point on the board before Radwanska took the lead.

The pair were evenly matched in the second set, with games going by the way of serve and neither being able to overpower their opponent and take the advantage in the early stages.

However, it was the world number four who managed to clinch the breakthrough and overcome Vinci to take the second set and the match.
