Liam Broady bows out of Miami Open

Liam Broady has suffered a straight-sets defeat to Filip Krajinovic in the second round of the Miami Open.

The British number five came through two qualifying matches to reach the main draw and overcame American Bjorn Fratangelo to progress through to the last 64 of the Masters Series event.

However, the Stockport-based player was unable to continue his fine run in the competition as he succumbed to a 6-3 6-2 defeat to the 22nd seed.

Broady competed with his higher-ranked opponent for much of the contest, but a slow start to both sets resulted in a relatively comfortable victory for the Serbian.

Despite the setback, Broady is expected to move up to around 154th in the ATP World Rankings when the list is updated on April 2.
