Cameron Norrie through to Atlanta semi-finals due to Nick Kyrgios withdrawal

British number two Cameron Norrie reaches the Atlanta Open semi-finals after Nick Kyrgios withdraws from their contest in the second set.

Cameron Norrie has progressed through to the Atlanta Open semi-finals after Nick Kyrgios suffered a hip injury.

The British number two is currently sitting at a career-high of 73rd in the ATP World Rankings, and the left-hander has continued to impress with an extended run on his first outing since Wimbledon.

However, the 22-year-old benefited from Kyrgios's withdrawal on Friday night, with the Australian shaking hands with Norrie leading 7-5 3-0.

Norrie had broken serve at the end of the first set to establish an advantage, and Kyrgios opted to call time on the contest after winning just six points in the opening three games of the second.

American Ryan Harrison stands in the way of Norrie making his first-ever ATP Tour final.
