Nick Kyrgios moves into world top 20 after reaching Miami Open semi-finals

Kyrgios moves into world top 20

Nick Kyrgios has moved into the world's top 20 ranked tennis players after beating Milos Raonic to reach the semi-finals of the Miami Open.

The 20-year-old Australian reached the feat after sealing a 6-4 7-6(4) victory over Raonic, who managed just four aces during their quarter-final clash.

Kyrgios, who had never before reached the semi-finals of a Masters, snatched serve at the first time of asking in the opening set, and that proved to be enough as he took the lead in Florida.

A tie-break was required to separate the two competitors in the second set, and it was Kyrgios who sealed it 7-4 after grabbing a single break point.

Kyrgios, who is the youngest man in the world top 20 for seven years, will face Kei Nishikori in the semis.
