Petra Kvitova beats Elina Svitolina to reach Wuhan Open final

Petra Kvitova beats Elina Svitolina in straight sets to reach the final of the Wuhan Open.

Third seed Petra Kvitova will contest for the Wuhan Open title after beating Elina Svitolina 6-3 7-5 in the semi-finals in China.

Svitolina was able to save a break point in her opening service game, but she was eventually broken by her opponent in the first set.

Kvitova was able to keep the momentum for the remainder of the set, showing that just one break was enough for her to take a one-set lead.

The 24-year-old struck early in the second set to take a break point, but Svitolina responded with a break of her own as she tried to launch a comeback.

However, Kvitova broke again and eventually served for the win on her third match point.
