Philipp Kohlschreiber eases past Malek Jaziri

Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber eases into the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships after a straight-sets win over Malek Jaziri.

Philipp Kohlschreiber has defeated Malek Jaziri in straight sets to progress through to the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The number seven seed eased through the first set, and despite the Tunisian providing tougher resistance in the second, the German comfortably wrapped up a 6-2 6-3 success.

Kohlschreiber dropped just one point on his first serve during the opening set as the world number 137 struggled to continue what had been an impressive run in the tournament.

The second set saw Kohlschreiber failed to take advantage of his opponent's second serve, but after Jaziri received treatment from the trainer at 4-3 down, the German quickly broke serve and sealed victory in 72 minutes.

Kohlschreiber will now play either Tomas Berdych or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for a place in the final.
