Kerber wins Paris Open

Angelique Kerber defeated home favourite Marion Bartoli to win the Paris Open this afternoon.

Both players traded serve in the opening set, resulting in a tie-breaker from which German Kerber emerged victorious.

Bartoli responded in the next set, eventually coming out on top 7-5 to take the match into a deciding set.

Kerber broke Bartoli's serve early to take an advantage, before going on to hold her own serve.

Bartoli was broken again as Kerber went on to win the set and the match 7-6 5-7 6-3.
