In-form Briton Johanna Konta seals her 20th win in 21 matches as Victoria Azarenka retires at the Wuhan Open in China.

Johanna Konta has advanced to the third round of the Wuhan Open with victory over Victoria Azarenka.

Konta was 6-4 1-0 ahead when two-time Grand Slam winner Azarenka retired injured to send the in-form Briton through in China.

It is her 20th win in 21 matches, with the only defeat in the run coming at the US Open to world number four Petra Kvitova.

Konta, who will overtake Heather Watson as the top British female in the world rankings when they are next updated, will face either top-seed Simona Halep or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the next round.
