Lleyton Hewitt defeats Andy Murray in Kooyong

Lleyton Hewitt has defeated Andy Murray in straight sets in an exhibition match in Kooyong.

Murray was hoping to prepare for next week's Australian Open with a morale-boosting win as he continued his recovery from back surgery.

However, despite showing no discomfort, Murray succumbed in two tie-breaks to the Australian, who beat Roger Federer in the Brisbane International final last weekend.

The Wimbledon champion has been drawn to face Japanese player Go Soeda in the opening round in Melbourne next week.
