Heather Watson keeps British hopes alive at Hopman Cup

Heather Watson overcomes Australia's Daria Gavrilova to extend Great Britain's interest in the Hopman Cup.

Heather Watson battled back from a one-set deficit against Daria Gavrilova to keep Great Britain in the Hopman Cup this afternoon.

The British team fell 1-0 behind to their Australian Green counterparts earlier today when Andy Murray was defeated in straight sets by Nick Kyrgios.

It appeared that 23-year-old Watson would suffer a similar fate when she lost the first set in Perth on a tie-break, but she responded to win (2)6-7 6-2 7-5.

Watson will now team up with Murray in the mixed doubles for what is a winner-takes-all encounter.
