Ferrer fights back for win

David Ferrer came from a set down to beat Dustin Brown 5-7 6-3 6-2 in the first round of the Qatar Open.

The German qualifier took the first set from the top seed in a closely-fought opening spell.

The match was suspended three games into the second set after a hole developed in the playing surface behind one of the base lines, taking the players off court for around 50 minutes while repairs were undertaken.

The Spaniard returned from the delay strongly, taking the second set 6-3 to level the match, before racing to a 6-2 win in the third

Ferrer will face the winner of the match between Tobias Kamke and Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in the second round.
