David Ferrer has clinched his fourth Mexico Open title thanks to a straight-sets victory over Kei Nishikori in Acapulco.

The Spaniard has now won three ATP World Tour events this year following his triumphs in Doha and Rio de Janeiro.

Ferrer, who is ranked ninth in the world, saw off the Japanese 6-3 7-5 in just under two hours on Saturday.

His three previous titles at the Mexico Open came in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
