Roger Federer has breezed into the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open with a straight-sets victory over Richard Gasquet.
The world number three grabbed a vital break of serve early in the first set before he took it 6-3.
Federer, who was rarely troubled by the world number 18, got off to a great start in the second when he broke Gasquet's first service game.
Another break stretched his lead to 4-1 before he eventually served out the match 6-2.
