Roger Federer advances to round three in Dubai

Roger Federer advanced into round three of the Dubai Championships after a 7-5 6-3 victory over Feliciano Lopez this afternoon.

The Swiss found the opening set tough against the Spaniard, but broke late on to take the lead in the match.

The former world number one upped the tempo in the second set, securing the win with a trademark serve.

Federer will play Mikhail Youzhny in the next round.
