Dan Evans, Brydan Klein to meet in Vancouver Challenger quarter-finals

British duo Dan Evans and Brydan Klein will meet in the quarter-finals of the Vancouver Challenger after three-set wins on Wednesday.

Former British number two Dan Evans has continued his return to form with a remarkable win over Taro Daniel in the second round of the Vancouver Challenger.

Ahead of Wednesday's meeting, Evans had come through three qualifying matches as well as recording an impressive win over Radek Stepanek, but he appeared on the way out of the tournament after falling 5-0 down in the final set against the Japanese seventh seed.

However, Evans stormed back, saving five match points before sealing a dramatic 4-6 6-3 7-6 victory in a tie-break to ensure that he will begin next week well inside the top 400 in the world rankings after recently falling as low as 772.

Evans will now play fellow British representative Brydan Klein after he registered an equally impressive win over fourth seed Ruben Bemelmans.

After the opening two sets were shared, Klein edged out the world number 102 by a 6-3 3-6 7-6 scoreline to guarantee that Great Britain will have at least one player in the final four of a stacked draw in Canada.
