Edmund reaches semis of Guadeloupe Challenger

Kyle Edmund has reached the semi-finals of the Guadeloupe Challenger with a three-set victory over Benoit Paire.

The British number three has been in superb form since the start of the year, moving up to a career-high ranking of 144, and the 20-year-old will make more progress next week after an excellent win over the former world number 24.

Edmund dropped the first set to the Frenchman before he dominated the second, breaking serve twice and dropping just three points behind his own delivery.

The Beverley-based player quickly went a break ahead in the decider, and although a rain delay threatened to halt his momentum, he returned to court to complete a 3-6 6-2 6-3 win.

Edmund will now play Edouard Roger-Vasselin for a place in the final.
