Novak Djokovic eases into quarter-finals of Dubai Tennis Championships

Novak Djokovic reaches the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships with a comfortable 6-1 6-1 victory over Ilan Marsel.

Novak Djokovic has comfortably secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships following a 6-1 6-1 victory over Ilhan Marsel.

The world number one converted an early double break in the first half and went on to take a one-set lead, with Marsel putting just one game on the board.

Marsel came close to going a break up in the second set, but Djokovic was able to save three break points to keep hold of his serve.

Despite the plucky showing from Marsel, it was the world number one who grabbed the first break, and he dominated from then on by breaking two more times and sealing victory.
