Juan Martin Del Potro books place in quarter-finals

Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro has moved into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships by beating Andrey Golubev this afternoon.

Former US Open champion Del Potro needed just one break of serve to take the opening set against his Russian opponent 6-4.

Golubev failed to respond in the next set, surrendering his service game on two occasions before slipping to a 6-4 6-2 loss in the Middle East.

Del Potro will face either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Lukas Rosol for a place in the semi-finals.
