Top seed Dominika Cibulkova has continued her comfortable progression in the Mexican Open with a 6-4 7-5 quarter-final win over Marina Erakovic.
The Australian Open finalist has now advanced to the last four of the tournament in Acapulco without dropping a set in her three matches.
World number 32 Erakovic was briefly ahead when she broke Cibulkova in the third game of the first set, but the Slovakian levelled the scores immediately.
Cibulkova missed out on break point in the eighth game, but she did not make the same mistake when next afforded the opportunity, and eventually secured the first set after 39 minutes of play.
It was a similar story in the second. Erakovic went 2-0 ahead after her opponent failed to convert six break points in the New Zealander's opening service game, but Cibulkova came back again.
There were soon three breaks in succession, two of which went the world number 13's way, as she levelled the scores at 4-4 and, although Erakovic saved one match point, she soon surrendered her serve for a third time in the set to gift Cibulkova victory.
