British trio reach Manchester quarters

Brydan Klein has produced a stunning upset of Marcos Baghdatis on an excellent day for British players at the Aegon Manchester Trophy.

The British number six withstood a second-set comeback from the former Wimbledon semi-finalist before prevailing in a final-set tie-break to record a 6-3 6-7 7-6 victory.

World number 355 Joshua Milton also reached the last eight after coming from behind to see off Japan's Hiroki Moriya.

Moriya took the opening set but Milton stormed back to comfortably earn his place in the next round by a 3-6 6-1 6-1 scoreline.

James Ward made it three British players in the quarter-finals after he came through two hard-fought sets to record a 7-6 6-4 win over American Dennis Novikov.
