James Ward falls at first Queen's hurdle against Milos Raonic

British number four James Ward is out of Queen's at the first hurdle following a 7-5 3-6 2-6 defeat against Milos Raonic.

James Ward has been knocked out of Queen's at the first hurdle thanks to a 7-5 3-6 2-6 defeat against Milos Raonic on Monday evening.

The British number four began the match well, winning the first set after breaking his Canadian opponent's serve with the scores poised at 5-5.

Raonic then fought back by breaking Ward's serve while 4-3 up, tying up the set without too much difficulty, and the English 28-year-old crumbled thereafter, dropping two sets early on as his opponent cruised to victory.

Up next for Raonic in the second round is Richard Gasquet, who beat Simone Bolelli 6-1 6-2 earlier in the day.
