Heather Watson has withdrawn from the Moorilla Hobart International due to an elbow injury.
The 20-year-old picked up the problem during her second-round defeat to Kiki Bertens at the ASB Classic in Auckland on Wednesday.
The British number one, who went on to play doubles following her loss, could now be a doubt for the upcoming Australian Open.
The first Grand Slam of the season starts at Melbourne Park on January 14.
