Andy Roddick has beaten Nicolas Mahut to reach the quarter-finals of the Atlanta Tennis Championship.
After a close first set, which Roddick won on a tie-break, he comfortably won the second set 6-3 to set up a match with Michael Russell.
Russell came back from a set down to beat the big serving South African Kevin Anderson 6-7 6-4 6-4.
In Wednesday's other matches, Japanese duo Kei Nishikori and Go Soeda both won their matches with victories over Ricardas Berankis and Igor Kunitsyn respectively.
