Laura Robson reaches first ever WTA semi-final

Britain's Laura Robson has reached her first ever WTA Tour semi-final with a three-sets victory over fifth seed Carla Suarez Navarro at the Italiacom Open in Palermo.

The 18-year-old got off to a great start against her Spanish opponent by taking the first set 6-2.

However, Suarez Navarro fought back to take the second 6-2 and level the match.

Despite being broken twice in the deciding set, Robson broke back three times to clinch it 6-3 and progress into the semi-finals.

The British number two will now face eight seed Barbora Zahlavova Strycova for a place in the final.
