Result: Tomas Berdych takes China Open title

Third seed Tomas Berdych has lifted the China Open trophy after beating unseeded Marin Cilic 3-6 6-4 6-1.

Cilic started well and took the first set, but offered Berdych a set point with a double fault in the second set that Berdych duly took advantage of.

Berdych then dominated the third set to take his first title since he triumphed at the BMW Open in Munich in 2009.

The 26-year-old has a first-round bye at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
