Rafael Nadal undergoes successful appendix surgery

Rafael Nadal's management company confirms that the Spaniard has undergone successful appendix surgery.

Rafael Nadal is due out of hospital on Tuesday after successfully undergoing surgery on his appendix.

The Spaniard confirmed last month that he would miss the upcoming ATP World Tour Finals in order to fix the long-standing problem.

Nadal's management company announced on Monday that the 28-year-old's operation was completed without any problems.

Nadal played his final match of the season last month when he was knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Swiss Indoors by Croatian teenager Borna Coric.
