Andy Murray has admitted that he felt it was important to rest before the final two tournaments of the season.
The US Open champion pulled out of the Swiss Indoors tournament last week with a back problem, but after a week's rest, Murray has insisted that he has prepared well for the Paris Masters this week.
Murray said: "I had a full week rest after Shanghai, which I needed. I just started to build up my training gradually. We came here on Friday so I have had pretty decent preparation for the tournament, which is good.
"I picked up a bug on the way to Asia and still didn't get rid of it until a few days after I got back. It was important to rest.
"Now I feel better coming to Paris than I did last year."
Murray will play his first match in Paris on Wednesday against either Paul-Henri Mathieu or Roberto Bautista-Agut.
