Ivo Karlovic equals ATP Tour aces record

Ivo Karlovic equals Mark Philippoussis's ATP Tour record for most aces hit in a three-set match by delivering 44 during a 6-7 7-5 7-6 win over Daniel Brands in Zagreb.

Ivo Karlovic has equalled Mark Philippoussis's ATP Tour record for most aces hit in a three-set match.

The towering Croat delivered 44 aces during a 6-7 7-5 7-6 win over Daniel Brands in round one of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors on Tuesday.

Philippoussis's record had been set in 1995 in a match in Kuala Lumpur against Zimbabwe's Byron Black.

The record for most aces hit in any tennis match still belongs to America's John Isner, who hit 113 during his epic 11-hour victory over Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon in 2010.
