World number three David Ferrer has parted company with his long-serving coach Javier Piles.
The 31-year-old, who reached last season's French Open final, has spent the past 15 years with his fellow Spaniard.
Ferrer will be coached by Jose Altur for the 2014 campaign, which he starts at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
"I am sad because it was a very familial relationship and next year I will begin with Jose Altur along with my same team," he told Sports360.com.
"I broke my relation with Javier. It was okay, we didn't have any personal problems. We worked together for many years and we decided to end the coaching relationship."
Ferrer finished last season by failing to qualify from his group at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
