Cameron Norrie books his spot in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open after easing to a 6-2 6-2 win over Japan's Kaichi Uchida in just over an hour.

British number one Cameron Norrie booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open with ease after beating Japan's Kaichi Uchida in straight sets.

Seeking to bounce back from his Davis Cup disappointment with Great Britain, Norrie barely allowed Uchida a sniff in a comprehensive 6-2 6-2 victory, which he sealed in just over an hour.

Uchida managed to withstand some early Norrie pressure to hold in his opening two service games, but the Brit broke to love for a 3-2 lead in the second of a five-game winning streak.

Norrie took the first set point on offer, with his serve down the T proving too strong for Uchida to adequately return, and it was a similar story in the second set.

An early hold for the Japanese counted for little, as Norrie broke in the third game and sealed the hold straight after with an ace before Uchida reduced the deficit to 2-3.

However, the British second seed broke again during another three-game winning streak, and despite squandering two match points, he took his third with an eighth ace of the day.

Norrie will now take on the USA's Jenson Brooksby - who defeated home favourite Kwon Soon-woo 6-3 6-4 - for a place in the semi-finals.
