Frenchman Gilles Simon loses to Roberto Bautista-Agut in the opening round of the Monte Carlo Masters.

World number 13 Gilles Simon suffered a 6-3 7-6 defeat to Roberto Bautista-Agut in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon.

Spain's Bautista-Agut began the clay encounter the sharper of the two players and having broken Simon's service early on, he went on to record a 6-3 success in the opening set.
