Juan Monaco advances into round two of the Monte Carlo Masters at the expense of Slovakia's Martin Klizan.

Argentina's Juan Monaco dropped just four games on his way to recording a 6-4 6-0 victory over Martin Klizan at the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon.

The first set proved a be an even contest during the early exchanges, with both players trading serves. However, Monaco soon claimed a break, which allowed him to open up a one-set advantage.

The second set was even more straightforward for world number 19 Monaco, who broke his Slovakian opponent on three occasions to book his place in round two of the competition.

Monaco will now take on either John Isner or Ernests Gulbis for a place in the third round.
