Stanislas Wawrinka stunned by Robin Haase

Robin Haase earns a shock victory over Stanislas Wawrinka to reach round three of the BNP Paribas Open.

World number seven Stanislas Wawrinka is out of the BNP Paribas Open after a shock defeat to Robin Haase.

The Dutchman, ranked 107 places below the former Australian Open champion, started well and broke the Swiss star to take the opening set 6-3 at Indian Wells.

Wawrinka bounced back, managing to save break points on his own serve while converting his own break points to tie the match at one set apiece.

However, Haase made a crucial break in the eighth game of the decider before closing out the match to progress to round three.

He now meets Lukas Rosol after the 27th seed edged a three-set clash with Martin Klizan.
