Petra Kvitova books last-16 spot

Petra Kvitova books her place in the last-16 stage of the Indian Wells Masters with victory over Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Petra Kvitova booked her place in the last-16 stage of the BNP Paribas Open with a 6-3 2-6 6-0 victory over Svetlana Kuznetsova this morning.

The Czech inflicted two breaks of serve en route to a 4-2 lead in the opening set, before ultimately emerging 6-3 winner.

Kuznetsova found some consistency on her service game and broke her opponent twice in a 6-2 second-set win.

However, the 24-year-old made short work of her Russian counterpart in the deciding set, coasting into a 5-0 lead courtesy of three breaks of serve before sealing a 6-0 win and securing her place in the next round.
