Ana Ivanovic dumps out Caroline Garcia

Former world number one Ana Ivanovic is dumped out of India Wells by Caroline Garcia in three sets.

Caroline Garcia has knocked Ana Ivanovic out of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in three sets.

The French player has progressed to the last 16 with a 6-2 5-7 6-2 win, in a match that lasted just over two hours.

Garcia flew out of the blocks in the opening set, as she converted three break points to win it 6-2.

Ivanovic was forced to dig deep in the second as she saved six break points, before she broke her opponent late in the set to level the match.

However, her confidence was dashed as Garcia earned an early break in the deciding set, before she held her nerve to book her place in the next round.
