Novak Djokovic beats Fabio Fognini in three sets

Novak Djokovic has defeated Fabio Fognini 6-0 5-7 6-2 to advance to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

The World No. 1 started well and did not lose a game in the first set, wrapping it up in just 18 minutes before he was beaten on a tie-breaker in the second.

However, Djokovic made short work of the Italian in the third to progress in the California-based competition.

Djokovic is aiming to win the competition for the third time in his career.
