Maria Sharapova sees off Jelena Jankovic in French Open quarter-finals

Maria Sharapova has beaten Jelena Jankovic in three sets to reach the French Open semi-finals for the third successive year.

The defending champion will now face Victoria Azarenka for a place in the final at Roland Garros.

The world number two was out of sorts during the opening set and was broken three times as Jankovic clinched it 6-0 in emphatic fashion.

However, the Russian fought back to level the match 6-4 before closing out the contest 6-3.
