Venus Williams exits French Open

Venus Williams departs the French Open at the hands of Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska at Roland Garros.

Venus Williams has joined her sister Serena in being knocked out of the French Open at the first hurdle this evening.

The seven-time Grand Slam winner's fate was sealed by world number four Agnieszka Radwanska, who took one hour to book her place in round three.

Williams made over 15 unforced errors during the opening set, allowing her Polish opponent to claim her service game on two occasions as she wrapped up a 6-2 success in just 28 minutes.

The opening four service games of the second set went to Radwanska, who took advantage of further errors from world number one Williams.

Despite holding her next two service games and claiming a break of serve, Williams was unable to build upon that advantage as Radwanska sealed a 6-2 6-3 win.
