Andy Murray romps through to French Open second round

Andy Murray hammers world number 137 Facundo Arguello 6-3 6-3 6-1 to reach the French Open second round.

Andy Murray's impressive clay-court form has continued with a resounding victory over Facundo Arguello in the first round of the French Open.

Both players exchanged breaks early on in the opening set before Murray turned the screw to break again and claim it 6-3.

There was less resistance from world number 137 Arguello in the second and Murray assumed control of the match by closing it out 6-3 in routine fashion.

It was an even more straightforward affair in the third for the Brit, who held the Argentine off with ease to win 6-3 6-3 6-1.

Waiting for Murray in the second round will be either Vasek Pospisil or Joao Sousa.
