Kaia Kanepi claims that it was "okay" for Caroline Wozniacki to argue with officials during their third round match at the French Open on Saturday.

Kaia Kanepi has claimed that Caroline Wozniacki was within her rights to argue with officials during their third-round match at the French Open on Saturday.

The Dane had a confrontation with the umpire after a number of line calls didn't go her way during her 1-6 7-6 3-6 defeat to the Estonian.

However, Kanepi later revealed that she tried not to get caught up in the on-court drama.

"Well, I think that those things happen in tennis matches, so it's okay if she wants to argue," she told reporters. "I have to be ready for that and take it easy."

Wozniacki labelled the officiating "a disgrace" after the match.
